Category: Feature Films | Duration: 71 min | Language: Manipuri with English ST
Loktak Lake is an unique ecosystem, where fishermen lived in huts built on floating biomass. In 2011 hundreds of these huts were burned down, with the official reasoning given that the ecological balance must be protected. Thousands of fishermen and their families became homeless.
Tomba, one of the victims, has since been plagued by terrifying nightmares. He also lives with constant fear of further interventions by the authorities, which could make him homeless forever.
Confined to his makeshift hut, Tomba perceives the spirit of evil around him, while his wife Thambalsang works hard to make a living. One day, Tomba stumbles across a gun hidden in the biomass. He wonders whether he has the power to protect himself, and, if necessary, to put up a fight.
One night, an old lady, mysteriously strolling along the lake, suddenly knocks at his door, and the scared Tomba, who sees the lady as the embodiment of all evil, unintentionally commits a crime.
