The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of India for Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland-Palatinate presents within the framework of the Indian Filmfestival Stuttgart events which showcase topics related to India. The mission of the Indian Summer is to provide a platform to exchange ideas and strengthen the communication and understanding between the cultures.

The exhibition shows theatre dolls from India and neighboring countries from the collection of the theatre, supplemented by arts and crafts. Location of the exhibition are the newly created exhibition halls in the building Hasenstraße 7. Some of the objects are for sale.

The Indian Honorary Consulate for Baden-Württemberg and Rhineland–Palatinate presents the 14th vernissage as an opening event of the Indian Summer and the Indian Filmfestival Stuttgart 2017.

At this opening exhibition works of young artists with Indian background are displayed. We invite you to discover in an Indo-German cultural dialogue interesting young professionals who work with cross-media techniques and different approaches in their engagement in India. Art lovers get the chance to openly talk to the artists about their work in a moderated interview. We invite you to an evening enriched with cultural and culinary highlights

FutureCitiesBW is an institution for the support of the local economy and science in the area of sustainable urbanization abroad. For this, international innovation partnerships with prominent research, practical and implementation partners have to be established and perpetuated in selected target countries.


Aim of the network meeting is bringing together players from Baden-Württemberg who are active in India or plan to do so. As an impulse for a subsequent discussion representatives of different companies will share their experiences.

Livable Cities - German and Indian Perspectives - Smart and Sustainable Architecture

CreativeDays is an international platform in Stuttgart, which stands for an exchange with India in the terms of design, art, architecture and urban planning.

 

Lectures on the challenge of the cities as conurbations for urban planning of the future, sustainable architecture and smart design will be given. The Indian architect Sameep Padora from sP+a, Mumbai is invited, who will present on the urban development and architecture of India. Prof. Arno Lederer from Lederer+Ragnarsdóttir+Oei, Stuttgart uses examples to reflect this topic on a European point of view. The following discussion offers opportunities for network and exchange.

Listen to Robi Roys bamboo flute play, performing Tagore and modern songs, accompanied by the Tabla play of Harun and enjoy the Bollywood and Baul dances on stage. Moreover, eight young dancers will perform classical dances in Bharatanatyam. Bollywood lovers will enjoy the Gazals, Tagore and Bollywood songs performed by various singers. Indian dishes will be served.


The German-Indian Association supports the charity project called ROSHNI – Aid to the Blind for India. The proceeds of the event will be donated to two schools for the blind in Patna, India.

South Indian Classical Music: Veena and Mridangam

Jayalakshmi Sekhar was born in a family of musicians in South India. From an early age on she got music lessons from her father. She started with singing, violin and flute. Today, the Veena, a string instrument, is her favourite instrument. Her most important teachers were Padmabhushan Sangeetha Kalandihi, Dr. Sripada Pinakapani and Padmabhuan Lalgudi Sri Jayaraman, one of the most famous musicians of South India. Today Jayalakshmi lives in Chennai and in Malaysia.
