Pankaj Johar was born in Nagpur, India, in 1980. He worked as a television producer for six years before co-founding his own production company in 2008. His films have played at festival across the world and his work has been supported by organisations like Sundance Institute, IDFA Bertha Fund, Norwegian Film Institute and BRITDOC. He is presently working on films for BBC and Guardian.
His documentary ‘Cecilia’ (2015) was shown at the 13th Indian Film Festival Stuttgart 2016 where it won the German Star of India.
